Connecting 47 thousand governmental organizations and companies to National Information Network

According to the schedule defined in the 5th development plan, all executive departments must be connected to the National Information Network and up to the end of this year and now about 47000 ones are the members of this network.

ICT Ministry Public Relations Department reported; Eng. Ali Hakim Javadi, the head of Iran Information Technology Organization in his press meeting which held for celebrating the 1st anniversary of Information Technology Organization establishment, said that various elements of national information network have been designed and are implemented now. Separating Internet from Intranet and managing IP addresses are some of the other developments made in this section that are implemented now and we hope we can reach it to the operating level, he added. Also 44000 Iranian schools are connected to this network which 15 thousand of them are connected with the bandwidth of 2 Mb/s, Hakim Javadi asserted. The deputy of ICT minister also talked about implementing the plan of National Internet Network for 15% home users till the end of this year and said: we have no problem in implementing this plan and we presumed that 60% of home users can use National Internet Network up to the end of the 5th Development Plan. Dedicated Networks implementation is one of the other National Information Network sub-plans and we hope that the 1st phase of National Health Network in 10 thousand points and Tax Affairs Network could be started up to the end of this month. Ali Hakim Javadi with pointing the achievement gained by Information Technology Organization in the recent 2 years, asserted that: compiling IT comprehensive plan in 14 axes and 23 strategies are some of these acheivements. Signing 95 agreement contracts with different organizations and department such as universities, learning and scientific centers are some of the other developments made in this zone, he emphasized. Also in EFTA zone we have some valuable achievements and “MAHER” Center in several computer events has been operated faster than the most famous security brands in the world, the Deputy continued. He mentioned the efforts made in developing the cooperation with private sections and said: for this, 2 guideline have been drawing up that A clause of 36th Article and the guideline of developing FAVA functions are some of them that will notified after passing legal processes. In order to provide the needs of the government with the help of private sectors, several meeting have been held with Iranian giant companies, he added. The ICT minister’s deputy with saying that we must find appropriate replacements for Gmail and Yahoo from technical and security point of view, declared that: we will have some new Email services and the related licence and permission will be issued for Email services presenters and providers and for this, we will use the maximum Iranian talents, capacities and private sectors. He informed about presenting the service of domestic Email to the universities and schools and accordingly and students and teachers can use this Email service. He emphasized that Google must start negotiations with Iran and respect Iranian rights. He asserted that we have had so many talks with Google for solving the problems up to now, but Google acts so differently. He talked about the technical problems which cause Gmail service disconnection and emphasized that there is no problem in presenting this service and we will publish the results of the negotiations have been made. The media are the conductors for ICT development and we hope that we can have dedicated media in Communication and Information Technology zone up to the next 2 years which play the role of decision makers in the country and their analyses will one of our definite governmental resources, the head of Information Technology Organization said.
