ICT Ministry Public Relation Dept.- Eng. Karbasiyan, the CEO of Iran Post Company in his press conference which held in Post Global Day said that at first we have arranged to present this service only in villages but now we have had this service around the country since today. This plan has been implanted in South Khorasan as a pilot and through this plan the connection between service presenters and their applicants is get possible but still, the concentration of web advertising is in villages, he continued. Eng. Mohammad Hassan Karbasiyan pointed to the universal Postal day and said: in this day, different ceremonies are held around the world and this year this ceremony is synchronized with Universal Postal Congress. He also referred to the international and updated postal packages index said: Iran has achieved 98 % of these indexes which the average level in the whole world is 95% and Islamic Republic of Iran Post Company will get a medal in Asia and Pacific section in the next 2 months. In current year, I.R Post Company has presented 2 new services which are Web-advertising and Email, also the services presented in Post offices get more and more from today, he asserted. The CEO of I.R Post Co. said that Iran has presented 9 proposals to Universal Postal Congress and till now, 5 from the total are accepted by congress. One of them is attending Postal Services Quality as one of Postal Union policies. Iran is one of the oldest countries in Post and some of Postal Technology has been introduced to the world from Iran and we were the 26th member in 1874 when Universal Postal Union has been established and now this union has 193 members. He informed about the distribution network and said that we have 6750 messengers in the whole country and we present various services such as Normal, Special and first class. Since today we have been bought 2000 PDA devices and all postal packages are checked with electronic pen and recipient’s signature in each level and this number will increase to 3000 with the efforts made. Karbasiyan also pointed to ICT section development and declared that the distribution are get electronic and we have other services such as intranet and online. Through the cooperation made between Post Company and some other organizations such as Telecommunication and Petroleum companies, Judiciary Organization and Iran Police and the last one which was with Documents Registration Organization, we have prevented going of 46 thousand people to this organization via internet services presented to them which result in decreasing inessential trips. The CEO of Iran Post Company talked about the role and place of Post in social, cultural and political society and emphasized that: Post offices are divided to 2 branches which are rural and urban and now we have 1707 Post offices, 838 Communications Offices, 100 Post Agencies, 1658 Rural Offices and 9718 Information Technology and Communications Offices.
