As ICT ministry’s Public Relations department reported, Eng. Ali Ashghar Ansaari in the “congress of Transition from the 4th to the 6th version of Numeric IP Addresses” on July 9, 2011 – (the day entitled as “Transition from the 4th to 6th version of Numeric Addresses”) said that administration of IP addresses in 4th version finished in the last year and faced all active and strenuous countries in Network Development with difficulties.
He with pointing at limitations of IPV4 declared that: because the 4th version’s shortage of addresses quantity, low security, low-quality services and hard configuration we all transmit to the the 6th version.
ITO’s Deputy of Network Management Development pointed at Iran activities for this chief task, analyzed the compulsion of this transition and said: accordingly and because of this limitation, internet resources are now compiling the relevant mechanisms and strategies for this transition and Iran has been starting his own activities too.
Ansaari with emphasis the urgency of transition from the 4th to the 6th version of the numeric addresses, declared that based on Iran 5th Development Plan and this matter that Iran must develop in Information National Network and E-services, transition’s compulsion increase day by day.
Development of e-services, data transferring security and new network and services quality are the essential factors for use new version, he asserted. He said: South Korea who is vanguard of IT in thw world, has 100 millions of the 4th version of IP addresses and up to now has 10 millions of the 6th version.
Deputy of Network Management Development in ITO informed us of a team constitution following the civilized countries’ guidelines for the transition and said: for coordination with related operators and confronting with coexistence menaces of 4th and 6th version and accordance of internet addresses with current circumstances, Information Technology Organization, Ministry of Communication and Information Technology and subsets, has been exerting the executive ways for transition to the 6th version.
He told about his election as a secretary of the council and said: this council will start his career with membership of middle rank managers of Telecommunication department, mobile operators and active people in IT and universities.
Codifying guidelines of transition to the 6th version and it’s approval, providing the road map and matrix of involved sections, providing drafts of necessary acts and their approval in Rule Adjustment Commission, will be basic goings-on activities of the team.
Ansaari, expressing again that the road map will exploit up to the next 2 years and continued: the road map includes appraisal of transition according to modern global standards, adaptability of transition’s mechanisms and their implement.
