According to Communication Ministry’s Public Relation Center, Iran’s Telecommunication Infrastructure Company and Turkcell Co. signed an M.O.U. following the meeting between Dr. Vaezi and Turkcell Chief Executive Officer, at the sidelines of IRAN Connect 2016 International Conference held for the very first time in ICT sector since the removal of the sanctions.
This agreement includes opportunities for establishment of alternative routes from the Persian Gulf region to Turkey and other countries for the times when Suez Channel and Bab-el-Mandeb Strait routes are down; therefore, it creates the possibility of participation for a third party.
Iran’s unique geographical position can be a safe and suitable alternative for the current problematic submarine routes.
